With the participation of dozens of members of the Young Women Council in northeast Syria, a statement was read regarding the violations in occupied Afrin by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries from the so-called “Syrian National Army“.
The statement was read in Arabic and Kurdish by Nahla Ahmi, representative of the Women’s Office in the Youth and Sports Authority of Al-Jazeera region, and Maha Muhammad, co-chair of the Youth and Sports Authority in northeast of Syria.
The statement commended the prominent role of women in building a free and democratic society in northeast of Syria and their resistance.
The statement condemned the attacks of the Turkish occupation, “In the name of the young woman in northeast of Syria, we condemn the violations of the Turkish occupation in Afrin against young women, including rape and kidnapping, in addition to forced marriage or what he calls mercenaries to common-law marriage.”
The Young Women Council in NE Syria also called on all women and human rights organizations to stand against the violations of Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
