The festival comes in the context of developing and promoting women at the cultural, artistic, literary and creative fields, and creating a strong link among women from all the components in northeastern Syria through their participation in the festival.
The festival was sponsored by the Culture and Art Committee in northeastern Syria, and under the title “Women Are the Pulse of Culture,” its activities kicked off on Sunday at Mohammed Shekho Center for Culture and Art, where poems were read by female poets about revolution, martyrs’ mothers, the homeland, the resistance of Serêkaniyê, as well as a musical performance by the Golden Crescent band (Kevana Zeireen).
Today, the festival’s events continued on the second day by some poems of the poet, Afaf Hiski, under the titles (My Companion Chasing Away, Body Parts and My Lady). Then a play was performed under the title “The Scream” by the Golden Crescent band (Kevana Zeireen).
Then the book of the poet, Mariam Tamr, under the title (Roses from the Mouth of the War) was signed, as she addressed in it the de facto life in the Syrian war, especially the women and childhood’s situation.
The events of the festival ended with honoring all the participants by the Culture and Art Committee in the northeastern of Syria, and the Union of the Intellectual Women in Al Jazeera region.
