On Wednesday morning, the Women Committee in al-Raqqa Civil Council began decorating the city’s roundabouts to receive the International Women’s Day, where these roundabouts were decorated with flowers and planting some shrubs and roses.
In the context, a lecture was organized at al-Taj Hall in al-Raqqa city in the presence of female members of the committees of the People’s Municipalities and the women of al-Raqqa Civil Council.
The lecture began with congratulating all women by the administrative member of the Women’s Committee in al-Raqqa Civil Council Fairuz Khalil, and she indicated that every country has a symbol for this day, and we, as women in north and east Syria, celebrate it with the martyrs who have sacrificed their souls and lives, such as Hevrin Khalaf, Barin and Çîçek.
Fairuz said that the woman’s self-assertion and culture shocked the entire world.
In the end, a short film was shown about women’s championships and victories in al-Raqqa.
Within the framework of the same event, the Women’s Administration in al-Raqqa organized a lecture for the female teachers of al-Raqqa city in coordination with the Women’s Office in the Education Committee, in which each of the administrators Maryam al-Ibrahim and Zuleikha Abdi spoke and said: “Women are most closely related to society, and that freedom and equality are achieved by resolving the women’s issue, hoping that the next celebration will be the eighth of March in Afrin city and the liberation of all occupied cities.”
At the end of the meeting, the Women’s Administration in al-Raqqa honored the teachers in appreciation of their efforts in the field of education.
