Long March activists leave Mannheim on day 5

Kurdish and internationalist youth have been marching since last Saturday to condemn isolation and the international 15 February 1999 conspiracy against Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The fourth day of the march was held under the slogan “Resistance and Martyrs”. The youth ended the day of march with a rally in Mannheim after having walked 20 kilometers.

As in the previous days, German police carried out provocations, occasionally recording the activists and banning the slogan “Long Live Öcalan”.

Mannheim Die Linke Provincial President Thomas Rolland, said: “The ideas of Abdullah Öcalan represent human rights. His ideas are anti-nationalist and anti-racist.”

Young people gathered in front of Mannheim Ludwigshafen Rathaus and start marching to Homburg.
