Martyrs’ families: We will stand together against occupation

The campaign launched by Kongra Star in northern and eastern Syria continues under the slogan “Keep your dignity and your land and defeat the occupation and ISIS” to condemn the Turkish state’s threats to occupy the region. In this context, the families of the martyrs organized a protest.

Hundreds of martyrs’ families, wives of martyrs, members of civil institutions, members of Kongra Star, and representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration participated in the march.

Participants gathered on the road to Aleppo, south of Kobani, carrying pictures of their sons and daughters who martyred and the flags of the Martyrs’ Families Council.

Upon the arrival of the people to the shrine of the martyr Dijla, everyone stood a minute of silence, and then the co-chair of the Martyrs’ Families Council in Serin area  Amal Mustafa condemned the Turkish threats to occupy the region.

Mustafa said that they would not accept the Turkish occupation and that they would not allow the emergence of a new Ottoman “on the land that was watered with the blood of the martyrs.” Amal stressed that they would stand together against the occupation to protect the gains of Rojava, and called on women to follow in the footsteps of martyrs to defeat terrorism.

Amal noted that “no one can destroy the link that brings together the components of northern and eastern Syria, which is the sacrifices of the martyrs.”

The march ended with chanting slogans that saluted the resistance against the occupation.
